SMBSC attains Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 2 Certification

SMBSC strives to insure the safety and quality of our sugar and we are proud to be a Level 2, SQF Accredited sugar manufacturer. SQF Certification is a benchmark of our level of commitment that is easily recognized and understood by our customers.

SQF is a global food safety program, recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) as well as retailers and foodservice providers around the world who require a rigorous, credible food safety management system. GFSI is a business-driven initiative for the continuous improvement of food safety management systems to insure confidence in the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide.

Level 2 Certification involves a Hazards Analysis / Critical Control Points (HACCP) planning. HACCP is a systematic, preventative approach to food safety identifying biological, chemical and physical hazards that exist is food manufacturing.
